Surety Bonds are once again proud sponsors of two categories of the annual ICE (Irish Construction Excellence) Awards – Fit Out or Refurbishment up to €10m and Fit Out or Refurbishment over €10m.
Over the next two months we will be showcasing the finalists in each of these categories, in advance of the awards ceremony Gala Event which takes place on Friday 24th May at Dublin’s Convention Centre. We start this week with a finalist in the Fit Out or Refurbishment – Up to €10m category, a boardroom refurbishment for a private client completed by Primabuild Ltd.
This collaboration between the design team from Tap Creative and commercial and residential construction company Primabuild Ltd. transformed an existing boardroom into a space that not only reflected the company culture but also fosters productivity and interaction. Tap Creative’s design concept was for understated Scandinavian design with premium finishes. Digitally enabled, this space is fully resourced to act as a catalyst for collaboration and innovation.

The project, directed by Primabuild, typifies construction excellence in terms of experience, teamwork and creativity. From meticulous planning to flawless execution, every detail was carefully considered and executed to exceed the client’s expectations. The scope of work was significant and includes new floor finishes, acoustic control panels, a new ceiling with innovative lighting systems, bespoke joinery, elegant furniture and artefacts installation, all brought together through Tap Creative’s design palette of Carrara marble, matte anti-fingerprint finishes, and rich Lancaster oak. Office-friendly planting, bespoke artwork and mood-setting lighting add a calming depth. While lifting the design, bespoke joinery and perforated acoustic wood panelling also optimise the space for video conferencing.
Despite the challenges posed by working within a live office environment, the Primabuild team demonstrated remarkable adaptability and professionalism, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations. Through open collaboration with stakeholders, Primabuild overcame challenges delivering exceptional results on time, demonstrated adaptability and strategic preparation.
A standout feature of the project is the handcrafted boardroom table, demonstrating a commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail. Additionally, the integration of sustainable elements further reinforces the project’s commitment to long-term value and environmental responsibility.
The project included:

- bespoke marbled solid surface coffee dock,
- bespoke oak boardroom table with stone inlay,
- oak feature wall with Microsound Acoustic panelling,
- and thoughtfully selected furniture.
These enhancements were achieved in close collaboration with the innovative design from Tap Creative, showcasing the Primabuild team’s professionalism and expertise. The result is a space that exceeds expectations, setting a new benchmark for excellence in workspace design.
The new boardroom at the HQ of this nationally significant company is an example of construction excellence.
