Officially opened on Feb 23rd of this year, the fit out of the VHI’s flagship 360 Health Center in Carrickmines, Dublin was carried out by Elliott Group.

The entry to this year’s awards is a healthcare fit out carried out by Elliott Group on behalf of VHI in Carrickmines. The project involved the change of use of an existing office building of approximately 5000m2 to use as a healthcare facility.
The recently opened VHI 360 Health Center facility, located in Carrickmines retail park, is the flagship development for the VHI. It comprises departments such as the imaging department (including MRI scanner, two X-Ray rooms, dexa room and ultrasound), fully fitted out dental department, cardiology department, pediatric department, consultant treatment rooms, isolation rooms and a series of associated rooms such as clean utilities and dirty utilities.
The new facility included some major alterations to the existing structure such as the installation of a through car bed lift servicing 5 levels, a new stairwell to the basement carpark and the removal of the existing façade to allow the new MRI installation.
Also included were a Faraday Cage and lead lining for diagnostic imaging rooms, basement works to adjust existing carpark to include additional spaces, clinical waste disposal and generator area with an additional lift core throughout the five floors. At roof level, existing plant enclosures were extended by 49m2 while the main entrance of the building was modified to accommodate ambulance access.
Working over 150,000 man hours, Elliot Group managed the challenges of the pandemic without a single incident or Covid case and were awarded the Certificate of Excellence in 2021 from the Considerate Constructors Scheme for continued high standards.
According to VHI, the opening of the five-storey multi-disciplinary centre is:
“…a pioneering new model of healthcare in Ireland which will take a holistic, 360 view of patient health including physical, mental and emotional wellbeing to ultimately improve outcomes”
