Edwards Lifesciences are a world-leading manufacturer of medical devices including heart monitors and heart valve replacements. This Limerick plant opened in March 2021, creating 600 jobs and producing world-class catheters for the medical industry.

With an overall floor area of 18,680m2, the building was constructed to LEED Gold standard and comprises of cleanroom production space, laboratories, office accommodation, a canteen & catering facility, reception area, future development space and associated staff welfare areas.

Extensive stakeholder liaison and a collaborative environment proved to be a success during the programme and ultimately ensured that the project was successfully delivered on time and to the satisfaction of the client’s team.

Contractor John Paul Construction had this to say on completion of the project:

We are delighted to have completed the CSA fitout and site infrastructure works packages for Jacobs Engineering on the new Edwards Lifesciences production facility at Castletroy in Limerick.

Our CSA package comprised of approximately 19,000m² of high specification fitout works across production, cleanroom, laboratory, administration, welfare, staff restaurant and recreational areas.

Throughout the project, we worked in close collaboration with Jacobs and the other lead specialist contractors to deliver a facility of the highest standards.
